| Today my manager asked me to come into her office. It was one of those...I've got big news tones..so i was getting excited..the long awaited promotion? bonus? anything? she then tells me that because my project is wrapping up and my next project has been delayed, they would like me to assume the Reimbursement Manager's role for 4 months while she is on leave of absence. I'd be working with CMS, (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) on carotid stenting reimbursement and talking to a lot of doctors in the field...I prolly looked pretty disappointed as I realized that this meeting meant no promotion, no raise. She says, it will give you great exposure and you will have to report to the VP of the business unit and working with bright people in marketing, mostly MBA types. I tried to pull myself together and look excited about it.. but I am confused..why me? I do clinical work..I talk to nurses... I hate talking to doctors (except my friend Angela of course! ). Doctors make me nervous! She says, "don't say no cos you think you can't do it bc I know you can..." talk about pressure! apparently her boss and the VP thinks I'd be a good fit. she adds, I need an answer fairly soon... the alternative is I keep doing what I am doing with site management but help another project. Should I go for it? its just 4 months of being in a really uncomfortable place right? But Joel Osteen says stay in your area of gifting, and my gift is CRA work. help!?? | | |
| When people ask me where I was born, I almost always explain that I was born a month after my parents moved to the U.S. a couple of months ago, a friend pointed out that I was born here but I was conceived in Hong Kong. ew!! my parents..conceived..ew! I never ever thought about where or when I was conceived, and was disturbed the whole day! Now when people ask me, I keep saying "I was born in the states but I was coceived in Hong Kong." ew! I cringe as I say it..today was one of those groggy mornings, and it just came out. my 2 co-workers couldn't stop laughing at me. blah...blah..are you a christian? lately, I have been very bold, and asking random people if they are Christian. well, i usually find some kind of random segway. when i was cutting my hair last week, the chinese lady cutting my hair was kind of fobby but really fun and friendly. i think i just asked her, and turns out she goes to Abundant Life and she used the rest of the time to encourage me spirutally.. who woulda thought.. then today a paint guy came to my work to fix a scratch on my car. after I asked him, he gave me a full testimony of his journey with Christ. what a surprise blessing! today the dude at Le Bou, gave me a free cookie and a free vanilla shot in my latte. I was thinking, it pays to dress up to Le Bou and not wear my usual scruffy clothes! then I bit into the cookie, and realized it was soo burnt it almost broke my tooth. that was a good dose of humble pie. the new love of my life, my new nephew Scott Lee Kano! he's a real cutie and he loooves to stretch..I can't wait till he interacts with me.

Here's a pic of Karen after I left with her right shoe accidentally. I guess the shoes aren't that similar. I can't believe u guys took a picture! (see post below) | | |
| Last night, after small group was over at 11:30 pm, I must have been really tired bc I walked out and did not notice something very important... After I drop someone off, Jimbo calls later and say , "Um, can you check if you have your shoes on?" I turn on my car light, and scream, "Oh no! how did that happen?" jimmy had me on speaker phone and I hear all the guys laugh. soo embarrassing... My left shoe was mine, but I had left with Karens right shoe on! (The shoes were both brown and the styles were somewhat similar, but man...I must be losing it.) I even remember thinking as I was walking, my right foot feels so comfortable! when I called karen, she says "Give me back my shoe! I like my shoe better," I have to agree... it reminds me of last year, at Tahoe, when K-dogg grabbed my tennis shoes by mistake out of the locker, and I was stressing out about it for like an hour. So, we're even! hehe I'll bring your shoe on Sunday at church! p.s. your long toes fascinate me | | |
